Oh boy, of course, the same old “Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world” argument, which I have discussed several times. Have you ever looked at the demographics where Islam is spreading? It tends to be amongst the poorest, least educated, and most troubled communities. If I were you, I’d be pretty embarrassed about the growth. The more affluent, educated, and successful Europeans, North Americas, and developed nations in the world tend to be atheist or agnostic for the most part. There is nothing to be proud of when an uneducated poor family forces Islam on their 7 children
While it may be true that Islam is growing rapidly in some regions of the world, that growth is attributed to many impoverished nations and communities where families usually have more children than they can support. Meanwhile, in countries like Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Australia, and the more affluent and educated parts of the world Islam, and religion as whole actually, is dying. If you want I can further elaborate on it. The numbers are staggering. The only reason that religion isn’t completely dead in Canada is because of the new immigrants that come in.
So now let us look at the people who are turning to Islam and why? And see how Islam and science are not compatible (all religion actually, I am not just singling out Islam). I am not sure if you are aware but recent studies have shown that over 93% of scientists and scholarly experts on the matters of science and cosmos are in fact either atheist or agnostic, so while you sit there telling me to “think about the growth of Islam”, I suggest you think about that. There is a pretty good reason for this, but I’ll get to that a little later. Let us see why people are Muslim or turn to Islam. You and I are people who happened to be born into it, so it was just what we were taught at birth. A child has no knowledge at birth so that early childhood indoctrination plays a huge role in developing one’s mentality. Let see, if you and I were born in Japan to a Japanese family or in Denmark to a Danish family, there is 95% chance that we would be atheist, if we were born to a Hindu family we would be Hindu, if we were born to a Christian family in Uganda or the U.S we’d be Christian, if we were born to a Jewish family, we’d be Jewish, I mean I think you get the picture. But what about the converts you may ask? Well, look at the trends, why do people convert to Islam. A huge portion of the new converts to Islam are criminals in prison who feel so empty and hopeless that they need something to give them hope. Once again we need to look at the demographics. In American prisons countless number of people tends to become Muslims, which is the product of being hopeless and in search of something to prevent them from going into depression. Many people convert to Islam as a political statement, and some do it as a way of “turning against the white man’s religion”, a lot of African Americans have taken this approach. In general, if we look at why the majority of people have converted to Islam in the past century, you come to realize that it has very little to do with the actual religion and a lot more to do with the individual’s political and dogmatic views. While it may be true that Islam is growing rapidly in some regions of the world that growth is attributed to many impoverished nations and communities, where families usually have more children than they can support, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, etc. Meanwhile, in the more affluent and educated parts of the world Islam, and religion as whole actually, is dying out.
